The Mission

A Crisis in the Forest.
An Opportunity to Rebuild.

175 million acres of western forest are at critical risk from wildfire, disease, and decades of mismanagement. Reforest turns that crisis into a platform — restoring forests while creating the raw materials for the built environment of tomorrow.

For generations, the forests of the American West have sustained communities, watersheds, and wildlife. Today, they face an unprecedented convergence of threats — catastrophic wildfire, beetle kill, and fragmented land management that leaves millions of acres in ecological decline.

At the same time, the world is building with wood again. Mass timber is reshaping commercial construction. AI data centers are demanding clean, reliable baseload power. And residential builders are searching for affordable, scalable alternatives to concrete and steel.

Reforest, Inc. is the bridge. We hold long-term USFS stewardship contracts that give us access to restoration timber harvests. We process that timber in modernized sawmills and mass timber facilities. We convert the residuals into biomass energy. And we develop the land as the foundation for rural data centers and sustainable community infrastructure.

This is not charity. It is a vertically integrated business that aligns ecological urgency with economic opportunity — and produces returns that infrastructure investors, impact funds, and strategic partners all understand.

01

Forest Restoration

Long-term USFS stewardship contracts across the Rocky Mountain and Pacific Northwest regions. Treatment at landscape scale — 300,000 acres per project — reducing wildfire risk while generating the fiber supply that drives our entire platform.

02

Mass Timber Manufacturing

Best-in-class sawmill and CLT/glulam production facilities — including a proprietary focus on thin CLT and MSR glulam for residential construction using species others have not yet unlocked.

03

Clean Energy

50MW+ baseload biomass power plants converting harvest residuals into reliable, renewable electricity — powering rural data centers and regional infrastructure with carbon-cycle-aligned energy.

04

Data Center Infrastructure

Timber frame data centers sited adjacent to biomass energy facilities in rural markets. Clean power, affordable land, and mass timber structures meet the exponential demand of AI and cloud computing.

Russ Vaagen

Founder & CEO

Russ Vaagen brings 25 years of executive timber experience — from VP of Vaagen Bros. Lumber for 17 years, to founding and leading Vaagen Timbers for 8 years as one of the Pacific Northwest's pioneering mass timber manufacturers.

His relationships span the full ecosystem: the U.S. Forest Service, Congress, major construction firms, and the tech companies now building with mass timber at scale. He has testified before both the U.S. House Natural Resources Committee and the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, and has directly advised policy language for the Farm Bill and related federal legislation.

Russ served as Past President of the NE Washington Forest Coalition — overseeing the first A to Z stewardship project on USFS lands, the direct model for Reforest's landscape-scale restoration approach. He is Chairman Emeritus of the Timber Products Manufacturers Association, a three-term board member of Sustainable NW, and has served on the Washington Forest Protection Association and Washington State Department of Commerce Manufacturing Council.

He is a TedX speaker and a recognized voice at the intersection of forest health, rural economic development, and sustainable construction.

Investor Information

A Platform Built for
Infrastructure-Scale Returns

Reforest, Inc. is raising initial capital to acquire and operate the foundational assets of a vertically integrated forest products and energy platform — anchored by U.S. Forest Service stewardship contracts and designed for infrastructure-scale returns.

The investment thesis is straightforward: the western United States has a 175-million-acre forest management crisis, a collapsing mill infrastructure, and an exploding demand for mass timber, clean energy, and rural data center capacity. These are not correlated risks — they are correlated opportunities.

USFS stewardship contracts provide 20-year fiber supply agreements that function like infrastructure offtake. Distressed mill acquisitions create entry at asset values well below replacement cost. Vertical integration from forest to structure to power creates margin at every step of the value chain.

The platform is structured as a HoldCo with subsidiary SPVs, designed to attract the right capital at each layer — private equity and USDA debt for manufacturing, impact funds for restoration, infrastructure funds for biomass energy, and REITs or tech strategics for data center development.
